Senator John Adler & Eric Spevak Join Forces to Support Troops

-Coastline Restaurant & Bar in Cherry Hill Hosts Hometown Heroes Fundraiserp

CHERRY HILL, N.J. --- 2008 is set to be a historic year for the New Jersey National Guard with the greatest deployment of soldiers overseas since World War II. This announcement has been a call to action for Haddonfield Attorney Eric Spevak and Senator John Adler.

The two Camden County citizens recently joined forces to host a very successful Hometown Heroes Fundraiser at the Coastline Restaurant in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, despite the ice storn with over 500 people in attendance. 100% of the evening's proceeds went directly to the NJ National Guard Family Readiness Council. The Council is a non-profit foundation that provides financial resources for soldiers experiencing hardship due to deployment.

On hand for the evening were Philadelphia Eagles star lineman Jon Runyan, who has attended and shown his support for this and many events supporting the National Guard, as well as, Former Philadelphia Eagles players Vince Papale and Garry Cobb. Also attending were former Miss New Jersey and CN8 reporter Jill Horner and KYW Newsradio anchor Cheryl Elias. Senator Adler and Eric Spevak wish to extend a thank-you to all those who came out to show their support.

Spevak is no stranger to supporting military and veterans' causes. He has hosted Thanksgiving Dinner for hundreds of soldiers over the past four years, and is now starting the planning for his seventh annual Veterans Gala. This year Spevak has teamed up with the Liberty USO in hopes of further raising awareness and breaking records for fundraising for both groups to help our military and veterans in a year of tremendous need. This year's event is scheduled for October 3, 2008 at the Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill.
