Eric Spevak, Esquire graduated from Hobart College Cum Laude in 1981 and Villanova School of Law in 1984.  For the last twenty-three years, the firm's Co-Founder and Managing Partner has devoted his practice to family law and its related practice areas, including Divorce, Appeals, Real Estate and Civil Unions. 

Ever since the inception of this survey, in 2005, 2006, 2007 and again in 2008, Eric was named a "New Jersey Super Lawyer" by New Jersey Monthly Magazine.  To receive this designation and honor, New Jersey Monthly Magazine first surveyed approximately 35,000 attorneys in the State of New Jersey through the company Law & Politics.  A special blue ribbon panel then reviewed and scored the list of nominees, with all finalists' credentials independently verified.  Eric was also named one of the State's "Top Attorneys" in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 by SJ Magazine and an Awesome Attorney" in 2007 and 2008 recently by  South Jersey Magazine where he was featured on a full page with his picture.  Eric also was named to the "Ten Leaders of Southern New Jersey" in Matrimonial and Divorce law by Digital Press International for 2008, having received this honor since inception in 2005.

Eric has also been included in the prestigious Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers in the United States by Martindale-Hubbell. He has also nationally achieved the highest rating from Martindale Hubbell, the nations oldest and most prestigious lawyer rating service and directory.  There are two components to the Martindale Hubbell rating - a legal ability rating and a general ethical standards rating.  He also is a listed attorney in the Best of the United States, by Best of US, Inc. and has been listed for many years by Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in the World.

Eric has also received the prestigious New Jersey Civilian Meritorious Service Medal from the State of New Jersey, the highest award given to a New Jersey citizen for his volunteer efforts.  He was also the receipient of the New Jersey Commendation Medal in a presentation from N.J. Governor Jon Corzine in Sea Girt, New Jersey.  He has also been the recipient of the prestigious National Patrick Henry Award, by the National Guard, USA.

In 2007, Eric was inducted as the 81st President of the Camden County Bar Association, New Jersey's second largest county Bar Association. He currently is the Immediate Past President of the Camden County Bar Association.  He previously served as the Chairperson of its Family Law Executive Committee for many years, having spear-headed the family committee for almost a decade in directing significant Continuing Legal Education in family law.  Eric was a co-founder and Vice-President of the South Jersey Family Law Inns of Court and served as a member of the N.J. State District IV Ethics Committee appointed by the N.J. Supreme Court. 

Eric has appeared as a guest on numerous national television programs to provide commentary, as well as to debate and discuss current legal issues, including on the "Today Show" (NBC), CNN, a live interview with Paula Zahn, MSNBC with Solidad O'Brien, "The Point" with Greta Van Susteran, (CNN), "Hardball" with Chris Matthews (MSNBC), "Catherine Cryer Live" (Court TV) Fox News, and frequently appears on CN8 on "It's Your Call With Lynn Doyle" as a guest attorney commentator to provide legal analysis and commentation about the Anna Nicole Smith paternity and custody issues and regarding other high profile divorce cases.  In addition, Eric has also been interviewed several times on "Comcast Newsmakers" analyzing and discussing community issues and trends. Eric has also been a special guest on the Mitch Ablom (author of the best selling book, Tuesdays With Morrie, 1997) Radio Show from Detroit, Michigan.  He has been involved in several high-profile cases which have set precedent in New Jersey and hold relevance throughout the United States, including the landmark "Frozen Embryo" case that was decided by the New Jersey Supreme Court.

Eric is an in-demand speaker and lecturer, who has taught and/or moderated over sixteen seminars on various family law issues helping to educate the legal community and the public.  He has been appointed amd has served as an Instructor for the State of New Jersey Institute for Continuing Education, teaching newly licensed New Jersey attorneys all aspects of family law in this state-mandated program. 

He has been quoted and interviewed in many books and articles on Family Law issues that have appeared in numerous publications, including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, ABCNews.Com, New York Daily News, Trenton Times, The Star Ledger, Divorce Magazine, the Courier Post, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Gloucester County Times, South Jersey Magazine the New Jersey Law Journal, The Philadelphia Business Journal and various Internet sites devoted to divorce and family law issues. 

Eric has received three (3) Proclamations from the New Jersey Senate and a joint legislative resolution from the New Jersey Senate and General Assembly for his community service.  Eric has been the recepient of two (2) Proclamations from the New Jersey Governor and the United States House of Representatives has awarded and recognized him three (3) times commending and honoring him for his volunteer efforts.  He also was the recipient of the Camden County Special Recognition Award for 2005 for his community service.   Eric also aided a Burlington County New Jersey family, who lost everything in fire, replace their belongings by organizing the community to provide furniture, gift certificates, clothing, toiletries, and more.   

In June 2005, he was honored as the Citizen of the Year by the JWV of the United States of America, Department of New Jersey, Inc. in a ceremony in New York, and in 2002 was a recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award by the same organization.  His energy and passion for helping others was contagious when Eric organized the fourth annual Thanksgiving Dinner on Thanksgiving Day for over 270 out-of-state area troops about to deploy to Iraq.  He brought together 400 area community volunteers under his leadership to provide a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for these troops.  For these efforts and his other charitable contributions, he was the recipient of the Above and Beyond Award from the US Department of Defense for "Outstanding Service and Continuing Support to the National Defense."

Besides being extremely active in his legal practice, Camden County Bar Association programs and seminars, as well as being active in leadership positions for  civic and charitable causes, Eric is a Certified Divorce Mediator.  He also has coached youth soccer and baseball for six years, and was a High School Soccer All-American and a Collegiate Tennis Letterman at Hobart College.
